We're amenable to either day. I'm not sure what % of rides are on a Sunday vs. Saturday, especially more heavy-duty rides as this one is. This differs from a 25 mile orchard tour with some of our route options. There certainly is the "recovery mode" to consider.
I've done a little analysis from the 2008 LMB Ride Calendar. Here's the scoop:
June - 19 Saturday rides, 12 Sunday rides
July - 9 Saturday rides, 10 Sunday rides
August - 16 Saturday rides, 9 Sunday rides
September - 12 Saturday rides, 8 Sunday rides
October - 6 Saturday rides, 3 Sunday rides (not including ours)
FYI - There were 2 other smaller rides on the same date as ours this year, one in Grand Ledge and one in Potterville. There was a large ride in Clarkston offering 5 different routes the day after ours. Might be a competition of sorts if we went on the same date as this ride.
Something to think about as we progress and make decisions for 2009.
Jeanne
Think about our date for next year. I need to have our
event in annual LMB calendar by 10/29.
I suggest Sunday, Oct 11 2009.

Hi Rotarians,
My schedule has changed and I have to travel Monday. Ron Hingst will be helping run the meeting. I have attached a cell phone list that requires looking at and getting the numbers not listed on the form.
Jeanne:Please add any other Rotarians you want on this list. pass around at meeting and get numbers . Then give to Pat Convey to format/copy/laminate for our event.
Peter: Could you provide John Rubio with a map on exactly where he is at the park and give it to him Monday, I sent him an email to come on Monday if his schedule will allow.
I will also need a map or written direction to get to Mrs. Starkey (at the High School), she will give to the interact students that are helping at this area.
Attached is the volunteer list that you can review on Monday. Note we need more volunteer for Loop riders and Jeanne Clum may volunteer United Way Staff.

TdL article in the Livingston Community News: http://www.mlive.com/annarbor/stories/index.s ... oll=2
I spoke with Jeff Boyd, director of Livingston County EMS. He was very cooperative. He said that they could provide some kind of first aid station/vehicle at Mt. Brighton. They also may have one of their officers on bicycle. They've used bicycles in the past.
He asked about the routes and said that since the routes are "all over the place," if there's an accident on one of the routes, they will send whatever ambulance in the county is closest; they would probably not send an ambulance based in Mt. Brighton for the day.
He would like to see the route maps. Can one of you email them to him? His address is jboyd@co.livingston.mi.us
