Our teams visit horse/pony owners and talk about&nbsp;care and related subjects in a very non-confrontational way to help educate the&nbsp;pony owner to better care for their&nbsp;pony or pack animal. These teams are taught to bring up subjects like; deworming, vaccinations, floating teeth, hoof care, proper feeding for the&nbsp;pony's age, etc.</span></span><span style="font-size: 14pt; language: EN"> <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 4pt; language: EN">&nbsp;</span><span style="font-size: 14pt; language: EN">This concept is working exceptional well as the horse owner does not feel he is being threatened, belittled, or picked on. However, if our team visits do not make the life better for the animal, stronger advisement is done by an Animal Welfare Officer.</span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 4pt; language: EN">&nbsp;</span><span style="font-size: 14pt; language: EN">Alabama does not have a law protecting horses from abuse and neglect. PLEASE write your Alabama Representative Senators today and ask them to put horses in the &ldquo;Alabama Pet Protection Law&rdquo; Look under links for the e-mail address for Alabama Representatives.</span></p><p class="MsoNormal">&nbsp;</p><p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 14pt; language: EN">Students also keep apprised of opportunities for rescue over the World Wide Web. Hidden Hollow Pony Rescue conducts research on up to date pony care, training, feeding, communication, veterinary care, and innovative equine maintenance techniques. Students are encouraged to participate in all areas of our rescue and adoption programs. Hidden Hollow has rescued&nbsp;21 horses and burros and have successfully adopted out&nbsp;15 horses, four horses died or were put down by our veterinarian from the extreme abuse they were subjected to by their owners and there are two that are of old age that will remain here at the Sanctuary to live out their lives in peace and comfort.</span></p><p class="MsoNormal">&nbsp;</p></span>]]></description></item></channel></rss>
