Siguiendo el artículo de Jason Santa Maria, se me ocurre que sin querer se transformó en un meme interesante.

La tipografía no solo cuenta un aspecto estético y funcional, también nos tomamos el tiempo para elegir con precisión la que mejor se ajuste a la personalidad de lo que queremos escribir y así darle un plus al texto. Si lo hacemos para nuestro trabajo, este sería un buen ejercicio de identidad personal.

Si tuviera que definirme, optaria por Paralucent, creada por Rian Hughes. Diseñada para ser un caballo de batalla moderno en la tradición de las sans como Univers y Helvetica, pero sin las idiosincrasias de esta últma y las extremas correcciones ópticas de la primera, Paralucent cubre un amplio rango de pesos (de hairline a heavy). Usada prominentemente en la revista británica Loaded.

Por qué? Porque a simple vista pareciera una clásica, pero cuando te acercas te das cuenta que en realidad es otra cosa. Es simple, sin ornamentos, amable pero rigurosa, imperfecta a propósito pero con detalles muy singulares. Además, es un poco mas ancha de lo que parece...

Ahora es tu turno. Cuál serías y por que?

Following Jason Santa Maria's article, I think it became spontaneously into an interesting meme.

Typography is not only about legibility and style. Designers take too much time to select the right choice that suits the writing personality in order to deliver a plus to the text. If We do this work all the time, I think It could be a nice personal identity exercise.

If I have to define myself, I would specify Paralucent, created by Rian Hughes. Designed to be a workhorse modern sans in the tradition of Univers and Helvetica, but without the idiosyncrasies of the latter and the extreme optical corrections of the former. Paralucent covers a very wide range of weights (hairline to heavy). Used prominently in the British magazine Loaded.

Why? It's because at first sight looks like a classic, but once you get closer you realize that looks really different. It's simple, without ornaments, kind but strong and with singular details. And It's a little bit wider than others as well..

Now It's your turn. If you were a typeface, what would you be?

El Reverendo Lorne Ipsum se presentó delante de los comensales y predicó Los Elementos del Estilo Tipográfico de Robert Bringhurst. Pero antes abrió con "En el comienzo, el Gran Diseñador creó el cielo y la tierra...". Esto se dio en la cena de los Rock Awards de la GDC (asociación canadiense de diseño gráfico).

"Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipisicing elit, sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt ut labore et dolore magna aliqua." Este texto que los diseñadores usamos todo el tiempo para bocetar, es una pieza de la literatura clásica Latina del año 45 AC que podés generar desde acá.

Rev. Lorne Ipsum presented his speech in front of the audience gathered for the GDC Rock Awards. He preached Robert Bringhurst’s Elements of Typographic Style starting with an irreverent “In the beginning, the Great Designer created the heavens and the earth…”

"Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipisicing elit, sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt ut labore et dolore magna aliqua." This is the traditional dummy text that we designers use to place in our mockups. This text is real and has its roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC and you can generate dummy texts here.
