Yes, it's true. Seattle based architect John Morefield noticed that he was competing against really low budgets and thought that replicating those smaill kiosks as seen on Peanuts could be a good idea, giving a 5 cent advice on architecture. Paying that, he can answer simple questions such as "What's the best insulation to use next to concrete in a basement?", to complex like "We have a 700-square foot Seattle bungalow and want to add a second story."
It sounds like his fault is to drop all the prices down, but I think It's a good idea to open up the conversation around the architectural topic and establishing a honest bond with potential clients that need help.
Like the nice psychiatrist with her 3 minutes therapy, what can graphic designers offer as a hook/marketing trick in this recessive times? No, forget all those logo factories, this is for real.

Good one, Julius.
Talk about commoditization of brands!
And yet... the connections Mr. Morefield is making with his own brand go beyond the surface 5¢ advice. Instead he is reaching out and showing his expertise, style, and relationship-building in a great experiential way.
