Soy fan de los inclasificables Hot Chip, lo confieso. Creo que "Made in the Dark" es una obra maestra y gracias a los chicos de The Other Side Magazine de Londres, acabo de recibir una copia del disco solista "Rubbed Out" de Alexis Taylor, su cantante. Gracias por el regalo!!

Comencemos con el diseño: la criatura de Frauke Stegmann presenta una simpática ardilla (creo) grabada en foil dorado sobre un limpio fondo blanco tiene sentido con el contenido. Alexis Taylor grabó este album en su casa y suena realmente íntimo, con muy pocos instrumentos y su voz. Minimalista en ambos sentidos.

Y que tal la música? Bueno, dije que soy un fan, por lo que me encantó!!. Los hits son Baby y Coming Up (un cover de Paul McCartney), pero no te podés perder el resto de los temas.

I'm a Hot Chip fan. I think "Made in the Dark" is a masterpiece and thanks to the guys from The Other Side Magazine, I've just received a copy of Alexis Taylor album "Rubbed Out". Thanks guys for the gift!!

Let's start with the design: Frauke Stegmann's creation features a lovely squirrel (I think so) embosed in gold foil over a clean white background makes sense with the content. Alexis Taylor recorded this album at home and it really sounds intimate, with very few instruments and his voice.  Minimalist in both ways.

And what about the music? Well, I told you I'm a fan so I love it!!. The hit are Baby and Coming Up (a Paul McCartney cover), but don't you miss the rest of the tracks.
