Esto es para todos los que niegan el poder del diseño y el branding. Y ya que estamos de campaña, les recomiendo esta buena nota sobre como influye la tipografía en la identidad de los candidatos a presidente de EE.UU.
/// This is for all those who deny the power of design and branding. And as we're talking about the campaign, I recommend this good explanation about how typography influences on the identity of the candidates for U.S. president.

Both McCain's father and grandfather were admirals in the US Navy. McCain's foods were established in New Brunswick Canada by the McCain brothers so there is no connection. (source: Yahoo! Answers)
This guy sees some resemblances between both logos (??)

Do you think the Republican party chose Senator McCain to run for US President because of the name somehow remotely resembles the American heartland Des Plaines, Illinois -born fast food chain?
The WASP name "McCain" definitely has appeal to geographical middle USA on its own--- without the need to subliminally/ visually connect his image to hamburgers, pommes frittes & apple pie.
Although it is surely a funny connection, it is probably a far-fetched notion that the Republican party is choosing candidates solely on their product co-branding / similarity merit; although it probably doesn't hurt either :)

If it was thought ... it was a good way to achieve awareness quickly ... Even in some way makes him more friendly ...
If they did not thought, the mind of the designer was self-deceived ...
And if it is this is a policy of the Republican Party, how / with whom did they associate Ronald Reagan? With Ronald McDonald? ![]()

And with a little switching around of the letters in the new Obama-Biden campaign sticker:
... Obama/ Biden = Osama Bin Laden = seriously bad naming and positioning choices!
I regret to say the Democrats seem strangely bad on branding themselves.

Truly the RIGHT (Republicans, et al) seem marketing savvy to the very science of it.
Truly the Democrats seem very naïve in marketing. Very hmmmmmm.
