Compartiendo de nuevo mis exploraciones domésticas para mis proyectos, estoy curoseando sobre nuevas experiencias de hoteles y hay 3 que me llamaron poderosamente la atención:

Citizen M en Amsterdam es un hotel no-frills-chic con cuartos pequeños (algo asi como los dormitorios japoneses para siestas) equipados con mobiliario de alta tecnología. M viene de Móvil y apunta a viajeros de negocios, compradores, pasajeros de fin de semana y hasta mochileros. La idea es "lujo accesible" por lo que los cuartos están equipados con muebles de Vitra y aparatos de Philps que permiten controlar todo. Además el edificio fue diseñado para crecer pudiéndose agregar más cuartos y espacios debido a su diseño modular. Los tipos de Concrete hicieron un gran trabajo!

Qbic, también en Amsterdam ofrece más o menos los mismos servicios que su primo Citizen M, pero aplica la filosofía de self-service para todo. Desde el check-in a la comida y bebidas los huéspedes cuentan con una terminal donde acceden a todo, sea vino, golosinas, tampones y flash drives USB desde expendedoras. La idea: todo lo que el pasajero necesita dentro de 7 metros cuadrados. No son tan pequeños como puedes pensar porque han sido diseñados para dar la sensación de que son lo suficientemente espaciosos gracias a su equipamiento de alta tecnologia.

Aloft es el nuevo hotel de la cadena Starwood pero presentado por W Hotels. Esto significa que se encuentra excelente diseño en algo así como un W pero más chico. Antes de su apertura Aloft es un hotel en Second Life para mostrar por adelantado su propuesta de experiencia. Es también interesante el blog que lleva el Capitán quien maneja un trailer por todo EEUU para llevar una pequeña muestra del hotel.

Sumo uno más a la lista: 25 Hours en Hamburgo. Super estilo a super precios.

Buen precio, gran diseño, alta tecnología y estilo urbano para el nuevo pasajero.
El futuro de los hoteles de 1 estrella quizá sea pasado!

Sharing my domestic explorations for my projects I'm peeping some new trends around the "hotel experience" topic and there are 3 in special that caught my attention:

Citizen M in Amsterdam is a no-frills-chic hotel with small rooms (kinda japanese pods) equipped with incredible high tech furniture. M refers to mobile and it's targeted to business travellers, shoppers, weekenders and even backpackers. The idea is affordable luxury so the rooms are equipped with Vitra iconic furniture and Philips gadgets that let you control everything. In addition the building was designed to grow within the time in order to add more rooms and spaces due its modular concept. The guys from Concrete have done a great job!

Qbic is another dutch hotel with more or less the same services as Citizen M. But Qbic applies the self-service to everything, from check-in to food and beverage. Guests check in at a self-service terminal, and can buy everything from wine and candy to tampons and USB flash drives from vending machines. The idea: all a traveller needs in a 7 square meter room. It's not so small as you may think because it was desgned to feel the rooms airy enough and with high technology.

Aloft is the new hotel from Starwood and endorsed by W Hotels. This means that you can find great design in a kind of smaller W. Before its opening Aloft is a hotel in Second Life to show in advance its experience. It's really interesting Aloft's blog run by The Captain as well. He drives his trailer along USA to give a small sample of the hotel.

I'm adding a recent discovery: 25 Hours Hotel in Hamburg. Super Style, Super Price.

Affordable with great design, high technology and urban style for the new traveller. The future of one star hotels is maybe out!

Lupa says this rooms are not cozy enough. She means not warm enough to deliver a hotel experience but I think these concepts are similar to the cruise cabins.
And if you are a budget traveller (like me) you would prefer to spend your money in restaurants and shops instead in a luxury room where you stay just to sleep.

This was the best hotel ever where I stayed...

PD: me estuve riendo como media hora con la experiencia Durex... alguien estuvo escuchando demasiado Barry White... jajaja!!!

More less in the same style of Casa Medina is the Sofitel Santa Clara in Cartagena. Great place! It was a convent since 1600 something.

Están realmente lindos los hoteles, a mí me parece que ofrecen mucho de lo que el viajero frecuente busca en un lugar a donde sólo pasará la noche.
Cuando se pasen por Cartagena o Bogotá avisan.. por acá a su disposición cuando quieran, un abrazo!
