The Rise of Libertas

After many months of writing, and then more months of rewriting, The Rise of Libertas is finally complete!  The Rise of Libertas was the first fan fiction story I ever began writing, and it's been a little over a year since I first began putting it down on paper.  It has long been my favorite story to write, and I hope it is some of my best work.  Please check it out, and I love comments. XD

SQUEE!

So I recently saw THE ARTIFACT on Amazon. And it suddenly hit me.

I'm published!

I mean, I knew it was going to happen - the nine friends and authors of this anthology have worked hard for months on this. But seeing it there, on Amazon, ready to be ordered...

Wow.

And even cooler than seeing a book that I helped write on Amazon was holding said book in my hands. Wow. I turned right to my chapter (I couldn't help myself). It was amazing. I wrote those words. I last saw them on my computer screen, and now they are in a book.

Wow. (again!)

I feel so awesome and inspired now. I must go write more! XD

How to Post Stories on Webjam

The instructions are slightly different depending on whether you are posting a chapter story or a single story.  I am going to explain how to post a single story – from there I’m certain you can figure out how to post a chapter story.

Click on the “Settings” tab at the top of the page.  Above the list of all the pages on your site is an “Add a New Page” option.  A window pops up, where you can enter the name for the page (the title of your story, for example), and choose a blank page or a template.  Since this is the first one you’ve done, choose “create a blank page.”  I’d suggest unchecking the “Include new page in navigation to all pages” option.

It automatically directs you to your new page.  Choose the tab “edit site.”  If you want to, choose the “edit” button by your tabs and uncheck the current page from the tabs.  Under settings, set the new page to “Private” and save.

Choose the “Modules” tab at the top of the page (to the right of “settings”).

Optional:  Add a “Blog” to your page (from under “My Content”).  This can be used by non-Webjam users to post comments if you check option “Allow non-Webjam users to comment.”

Example post:

I have made this blog in order to allow non-Webjam users to comment on this story.  If you are not a Webjam user and would like to leave a comment or review for "[insert story title here]," please reply to this blog to do so.  I really appreciate feedback!  :)

Back to Tutorial:

Add a “Bulletin” to the page from under “Me and My Community.”  You can edit the title to be what you want (such as “Comments” or “Reviews”) and choose the number of comments that will be shown.

Now click on “My Content” and add two “Rich Text” boxes.  The first is for story information; the second is for the story.

Optional:  For fun, you can use another rich text box or a post-it note in the second column to add pictures or icons.

Enter your story’s information in the top rich text box (such as title, fandom, rating, genre, disclaimer, author’s notes, summary…).  Then in the second rich text box, copy/paste your story.  Make desired changes to the font, size, etc., and then save.

Now that your page is ready, go back to settings and set the page to “Public” and save.

Provide links to your story on your homepage, a special fan fiction page, or wherever you want.

And there you go!  You’ve posted your story.

I hope this tutorial was helpful. :)

 Additional information:

How to set up a link:

To set up the individual summary boxes, you do the same thing as you did for the top rich text box on the story page. Then to set up the link you highlight the title of the story (as you are editing the content) and click on the little symbol that looks like the infinity sign (next to the indent buttons on the toolbar). Then you copy/paste the site address into the top box. Then you can choose to have the link open a new window or stay in the same window. You don't have to fill in the last box, if you don't want to. Then click "Insert" and then "Save."

Well, you put in your own piccies! LOL! But I'm sure you'd be able to find enough of Jack and James to fill it up.

Did you know there's a Pirates of the Caribbean slideshow theme at Photobucket which you can upload to your website? You might like to take a look.

It's been nearly a month, but I'm finally posting a new story! Well, actually it's an old drabble, but it's only just now being posted. From the Chronicles of Narnia comes "One Hundred Years."
