Conducting a Symphony of Glass

0 Comments - Add comment Written on 03-Jul-2008 by hawleyclan

"Creak!" The handle turns.
The soft hiss- beckoning.

"Snap!" A tiny spark takes life.
Blues, reds, yellows- reaching.

"Hissss! Hummmmm!" The song.
A melody of flame- hypnotizing.

"Tink!" A tiny vibration magnified.
A shining shaft of glass- changing.

"Sigh!" Soft silence of a molten ball.
Stretching, sagging, moving- creating.

The Symphony of the Journey of Glass.
Same heart in a new form- comforting.

Please Excuse Our Dust!

Whew!  I think the dust is starting to settle!!  :D

We have spend much of the last two weeks getting our websites and webpages updated for the Studios.  It is amazing what time and work goes into this process!  This site has been the last of our efforts, and then it is party time at the torch again!

Looking forward to trying out the new glass we ordered, the colors are delicious and the stacks of shiny rods are beckoning to be played with!  :)

Thank you for your interest in our work and our Studios!  Please take time to visit our links and peek at our galleries at our Main Blog.  That is our main site for updates and information about our studio and work, you can also shop our Etsy store from there.  We work with many forms of art- including lampwork, fusing, slumping, silver work, metal work, polymer, custom knives, and gunsmithing.

We love what we do, and we love to have variety, but lampwork is the most mesmerizing interest of them all- melting glass is an amazing adventure!!  We hope to get to know you along the way!!

God Bless!  :)

About me:
Hi! hawleyclan is our screen name. Hubby is David, and I am Zoie. We've been a unit for 20 years now... and our marital bliss wouldn't be what it is if we didn't have 6 cute kiddos in the mix.

We are from Texas, south of the DFW area. We are country dwellers, and have varied skills and interests. Those interests include glass, polymer, metal, and textiles. Hubby and I have been working with glass for going toward a year now, mostly lampwork, but we are experimenting with fusing and slumping too.

Lampwork Etc. is the site that helped us get on our feet and running. 8)

Looking forward to meeting everyone!!
