Hey, my name is Tami i have a 14 year old son who is deaf and autistic we have just moved to newport tenn. and i am trying to find out about some organizations here to get some help for him to be able to recieve his cap services and other services that will benefit him. Cherokee Health Systems (Talbott Office)

We will have a
Inflatables, Clowns, Face painting, a Illusionist,
Pumpkin Painting, Games, Cookie Decorating, Candy Apples,
Pizza, Cupcakes, and much, much more.

Free for Special Needs Children and their families. We do ask that each family bring a finger food to share..... like chip&dip, pigs in a blanket, etc. (kid friendly foods) NO NUTS!!!

Hand In Hand Family Support will be having our 5th Annual Pump It Up Fun Party this Saturday at 1:45PM to 4:00PM. We would like to invite all members old and new to attend.

We will be meeting for lunch at 12:30 at the Wendy's on US-11E S, For those of you who would like to join us or those of you that would like to follow us to the party. We will be leaving Wendy's at 1:20. So if plan to follow, PLEASE make sure you are there by 1:20.

Our Monthly Meeting time is here! We will meet at Jefferson City Christian Church at 6:30 p.m. Child care will be available---just let us know if you need child care and how many will be coming. There will be pizza so don't eat before you come. We look forward to seeing you there!

Hello Everyone!! It's time for our monthly meeting.

We will meet at Jefferson City Christian Church, Thursday,
November 13th at 6:30 p.m.

Our guest speaker will be Dr. Tom Bishop from Cherokee Health Systems. He will address the topic of having a family member with special needs and specifically the affects we could see in marriages and among siblings.

This would be a great opportunity for both spouses to attend. Child care is now available. Please let us know if you will be attending and need child care.

Just wanted to let you guys know that our Oct. meeting will be back on Thursday's at 6:30 pm. We will not be having a speaker for this meeting. Some parents have ask us just to have a meeting just to talk and get to know each other.

Also in Oct. we are having a Family Fall Party on Sat. 18th at Jefferson City Christian Church from 2-5. We have rented bounce house for the kids and will be having games and goodies for everyone. Please RSVP asap so I will know how much food we need. thanks

 Our Vision

Monthly Support Meetings-We invite anyone who wants to learn about specific trainings to be able to access them. We want to establish friendships and have a good time.

Available Resources-Hamblen and Jefferson Counties libraries both have updated books donated to them by Hand in Hand, Family Support. We hope that this is a great benefit to the community.

Community Awareness- We raise awareness two ways; by holding fundraisers and have social events through out the summer

Our Purpose- Hand in Hand, Family Support helps families with…….Providing parent training, Meaningful parents involvement. Better communication between families and schools. Connecting families to TN Division of Special Education’s Regional Resource Center, Accessing State and National resources, Developing Special Education Family Advisory Committees, Identifying local needs and developing action plans
