Hi there. Welcome to Guyston
What is Guyston?....It's my own personal model fairground and town layout for which I never thought I'd create a website.
The goal is to create a model layout with as much light and movement as possible. The models are mainly kits from a German company called Faller. The town will use the Faller Car System to create moving cars that appear to know where they're going unaided by any visible tracks.
It was never intended to create a "realistic" model layout....maybe when I've built everything I'll start again with this in mind, knowing the exact dimensions of all the models
Already other things have crept into the plans - 2 monorails, a cable car and, hopefully, lots of "realistic" flashing lights in the fairground.
The reason for the website? I've done loads of surfing and googling and ebaying, and have found out loads of interesting stuff. Interesting that is, if you're trying to do something similar, or want to add some more light and movement to your model layout. So I thought I'd share it.
December 2008, and I've been at it for about 9 months - The fairground is pretty much completely planned and 5 (of the simplest rides) are made. I have built some buildings and other bits and pieces for the town. I hope to complete the design for the town over Christmas. I reckon it'll take about 10 years to complete...
If the fairground part turns out half as good as this from "Coasterkalle" I'll be happy
If you've not seen it before this is an example of the Faller car system where the vehicles apparently know where to go and when to stop and start automatically
