Some of you have had the opportunity to see first-hand the incredible need that exists in developing countries around the world, and many others of you understand this need exists without even having seen it. Surrounded by the wealth of America, it’s easy to get caught up in the consumer culture. But imagine with me how much could be accomplished if a group of people decided to give up a small amount of disposable income they normally spend on eating out, movies, etc., and gave it instead to feed, clothe, or medically treat someone in a developed country. Give to Live is founded on this idea, as well as the idea that giving not only enhances our own lives but also can save and transform the lives of others.

The purpose of Give to Live is to encourage each other to develop compassionate responsibility with our resources, and in this way even out in a small way the American excess of wealth. This campaign is different from other charity campaigns because instead of encouraging a one-time gift to a specific cause, it aims to develop habitual giving to whatever cause you may feel strongly about. At the same time, however, we hope to raise awareness of what it means to be poor in a developing country.
