"Where they negative?""No. They were weak positives, but below the threshold for positive. "I'm going to call him. Find out what the hell's going on," she sputtered, pulling out her cell phone. After a few moments, realizing that it was the middle of the night and he might be sleeping, Sara was just getting ready to hang up. Then he answered.
"Hello, Sara," he said, his voice as smooth and rich as cocoa made with cream and Belgian chocolate.
"Hello, Nikolai," she said, trying not to sound curt.
"What is wrong, my sweet?" he asked, sensing her tension.
