I am used to leave my MacBook in the hands of my kids to let them watch their favorite cartoons (Droopy, Tom & Jerry, Mickey Mouse...) on YouTube. Although I have a quite good bandwith at home (8 Mb/s.), getting all this stuff on my hard disk was something I had in mind since few weeks as I get now daily request to access YouTube...

By chance, I found a terrific widget which is going to be my best friend for this week-end: MyTube. Available on Apple.com Dashboard section, it allows you to simply download any YouTube film directly on your hard drive, automatically encoded so that you can sync your iPod video (or iPod Touch if you're a lucky early owner of one...) to watch them on the go... 

Not only is it great for download + automatic encoding, but it has a smart integrated search which is much more friendly than YouTube's one, the full screen mode is also very smart with a black background, well, definitely a MUST have !

It's a freeware, but to download the videos, you have to make a little donation, less than 3$, which is definitely worth giving in regard to the added value of this great widget.
