We are currently recruiting first year MBA students to join the FC intern program. Each intern is assigned a specific geographic region, typically concentrates on a specific industry and acts as an official country manager or regional managing director.

Some interns may chose to focus on a specific industry segment within their territory that falls into one of our three core portfolios. Examples of industry segments include:

1) Information Technology & Communications (ITC) & Mediatech
Subset areas of focus for interns can be for example mediatech in Los Angeles or Berlin, security applications in Washington DC and Israel, semiconductors in the UK or telecom communications technologies in the Scandinavia.

2) Healthcare Life Science

This is a broad category; however, our initial focus is on medical device and healthcare IT & services companies. We are open to pharmaceutical ventures, but this is not a core area of focus.

3) Cleantech

A broad category which can include any thing from renewable energy technologies and services to energy reduction, recycling, water purification and many others.

As a general guideline, we focus on the companies that have raised funding from the top quartile VCs. We believe that diversification is good for members of the FC, but industry focus increases the value members bring to each other.

Interns use our online database which already tracks 95% of all VC transactions on a global basis. Interns perform look-ups and research every company that has raised VC funding within the past 12 months in their area of focus. Interns focus on researching, cold calling and emailing CEOs giving them the FC pitch and try to get these CEOs to meet with us and attend our events. The bulk of an intern's time is spent conducting this research, making cold calls and sending emails with the objective of screening the best VC backed ventures and getting these winners to apply for membership. Interns also take meetings and conference calls with VCs to get their official support for their portfolio companies to join FC portfolios.

Interns are also invited to participate in meetings and any or all of our networking events around the world, mixing with a very select grouping of VC backed founders, angel investors, VCs and M&A executives at large corporates like Google, Yahoo!, Microsoft and Cisco.

Breaking into venture capital and private equity is very difficult. A successful internship at FC provides direct access to getting a job at an active VC or PE firm.

If you plan on launching your own world beating company what better way to increase your prospects for success than learn from the masters and participants of the ecosystem? Develop relationships with the individuals that may join as non-executive directors and angel fund your business, become your VC investors as well as the eventual buyers of your business.
