SURVIVALIST DESIGN CONCEPT

SYNOPSIS

'FLOODRINGS'™ is a design proposal for a versatile multifunctional utility with the purpose of surviving floods, providing transport and dwelling for refugees of post~flood regions. The utility can be deployed for a variety of purposes relating to rising sea levels and displacement due to flooded coastlines.

The utility is a donut shaped hollow ring made of recycled plastic and fiberglass. It has rubber~seal access hatch doors. Designed to float on water the modules can also be stacked on land to create a tower. Filled with earth/sand/water/rubble, they form a stable structure around a core shaft to the ground (now seabed) level for access to fresh~water wells and other resources.

The rings can be fitted with several additional features;
~ a dome roof umbrella  above the central core of the donut to provide shade & protect from rain,
~ an egg shaped platform surrounding the donut's midriff,
~ a pedalo~style water~wheel for travel and generation of electricity.
~ translucent/opaque material for use as poly~tunnel style vegetable grow~house

The utility is light~weight so it can be air~dropped from helicopters, and is relatively cheap to mass produce.

We are desperate for funding to get this design off the drawing board and to the locations that scientists are telling us are facing severe flooding over the next two decades.

The following series of pictures visually describe the design variants.
