Does God exist? Many people haphazardly respond to that question without obtaining sufficient evidence to either prove or disprove God’s existence. Therefore, I propose that each person use a more deliberate approach to determining God’s reality by using the scientific method or some variation of it.

The scientific method is used to find answers to questions to the world around us. The steps are (1) question, (2) hypothesis, (3) experiment, (4) analysis, and (5) conclusion. Our question is “Does God exist?”  Hopefully, no one disagrees with that question?

Next, we predict the answer, which is our hypothesis._­­­   I believe that each person should begin with an affirmative response, “God exists,” for one important reason.  Hebrews 11:6 (NLT) states, “And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.”  Therefore, without faith, no one will ever really be able to prove or disprove whether God exists.

Third, one must test his/her hypothesis by doing an experiment.  A good place to go to develop some procedures for this experiment is the Bible. The following are some procedures from the Bible:   

• “O taste and see that the LORD [is] good: blessed [is] the man [that] trusteth in him” (Psalms 34:8 KJV).
•   “Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that [there shall] not [be room] enough [to receive it]”( Malachi 3:10).
•  “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Romans 10:13).

The scriptures above not only describe the procedures, but also the results. If God is real and the Bible is His divinely inspired Word, then by following those procedures you will get the results listed in those verses.

Fourth, complete your analysis. By doing an analysis, you record your data and observations.  You also have to determine whether your data is accurate or not.  You can determine whether or not your data is true by doing either of those procedures in the verses. If the data is accurate, the results listed in the verses will happen, if not, the results listed will not happen.

Before I discuss the final step, I want to share the evidence I have personally gathered about God’s existence.  Several times I have witnessed gold dust as it materialized on my hands as well as the hands and faces of others.  Also, my dad prayed for God to heal his leg and, within a minute or so, it was healed. In addition, I have attended a Christian conference where many got healed in a variety of ways by God. Some were covered by gold dust while some others were healed from pain.  At the same Christian conference, I was slain in the Spirit several times.

When a person is slain in the Spirit, he/she feels the weight of God’s glory, sometimes they cannot move, and/or they may only be able speak in tongues. Tongues are a heavenly language God gives to people. I received the language of tongues when I was five years old.  The following verse describes the signs that follow people who believe in God:  “And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover” (Mark 16:17&18). I am one of those people who believe and I have experienced many signs.

The final step of the scientific method is writing a conclusion. The conclusion is the summary of the important parts of our experiment and our results.   I think it’s important for each person to prove God’s existence for himself/herself because without proof, no one can determine whether or not God exists.  God wants us to test/prove Him and I know this because He wants us to believe that He exists.  Discover the truth for yourself.

There is poverty in every country of the world.  Poverty is when somebody is poor and can’t make a living.  There is even poverty in wealthy countries. Poverty can even become worse, escalating into extreme poverty, which means living on less than one dollar a day. Poverty is not what God wants for humanity.

Some situations that fuel poverty are child labor, global warming, poor infrastructure, war, natural disasters, and prejudice. Child Labor is when poor children are treated as slaves at work for little pay. Prejudice means to be treated unfairly because of one’s characteristics. Except for natural disasters, all of the other forces contributing to poverty are preventable. 

Fortunately, there are some ways to break out of poverty. Receiving a good education is one way to break out of poverty. Staying healthy is another way. Developing business skills is also a way to overcome poverty. Although these help people to break out of poverty, it mainly depends on the attitude of governments and its people:  Will they or won’t they execute justice and mercy?

God does not want anybody to be poor and He wants people to help the poor. Deuteronomy 15:7-8 says “If there be among you a poor man of one of thy brethren within any of thy gates in thy land which the LORD thy God gives you, thou shall not harden thy heart, nor shut thy hand from thy poor brother, but thou shall open thy hand wide unto him, and shall surely lend him sufficient for his need, in that which he wants.”  This verse means that God wants you to help the poor, so get involved!
