GIZMOS' BACK!!!!

Hi All

We did a door drop of a revised leaflet on Saturday afternoon (14 Nov - see Poster 2) basically pleading with people to spend 10 minutes looking in their garages, greenhouses etc and guess what........... HE TURNED UP EATING FOOD IN OUR HOUSE AT AROUND 3.30PM!!!

Fortunately he is still in good condition although he has lost some weight (probably needed to anyway!!!).  He was obviously dehydrated because he was licking water off the surface of the car.  Apart from being a little quiet and spending a lot of time resting (see photo below!!) after his ordeal, I'm pleased to say he is gradually getting back to normal

As a result of our efforts, I also received several phone calls from potential sightings and with general support and advice.

We don't know exactly where he was but many thanks to everyone who did spend the time looking. It was very much appreciated.

To anybody who has lost a pet, our story shows that with a little effort, faith and belief you can find your pet.  It has been very tough for us in the past week but we never, ever gave up.

Also, many thanks to Cherrie and Tom at Animal Search UK.  Whilst I didn't use their services because I have the facilities and had already completed my poster campaign, they took the time to speak with me and gave me invaluable advice.  I would thoroughly recommend the use of their services.  They can be found at www.animalsearchuk.co.uk.

Guess this is my last post then!!!

Hello,

Thanks for coming to the web site we've set up to try to find one of our beloved cats, Gizmo.

We will update this blog regularly with any activity or progress that has been made.

We know that time is running out to find Gizmo.  We also know that there are several things could have happened to him:

  • He could have been stolen
  • He could have been injured and unable to move properly
  • He could have been injured/killed by a car
  • He could be locked in a local building (church, greenhouse, shed etc)
  • He could have indavertently gone through the one-way only cat flap of an unoccupied house and is unable to get out

However, since we realised Gizmo was missing late on Monday evening (9th Nov), we've spent many hours trying to find him.

To date, we have carried out the following investigations:

  • We have carried out extensive searches of the golf course the wooded area to the rear
  • We have carried out extensive searches of the wooded area to the rear of Enfield Rd
  • We have carried out extensive searches of St Pauls Church Grounds
  • Gizmo never wandered any further than the borders of Egerton, Enfield and Brackley Rd although he did touch the periphery of the golf course.
  • Despite extensive leaflet drops and some door-to-door enquiries there have been no reported sightings
  • Checks with Environmental Services show no accidents with cats have been reported to them since Saturday 7th November

Because of this, we believe that Gizmo may have wandered indavertently into a garage, greenhouse or unoccupied property in the Egerton, Enfield or Brackley Rd area.

Time is now of the essence so please, please help us find Gizmo before it's too late.

Your help in finding Gizmo would be very much appreciated.  We are doing a second leaflet drop this weekend (14th Nov) asking you to please, please spend 10 minutes just to check your outbuildings, greenhouses etc.  You can help as indicated here

I'll hopefully be able to report some positive news soon.

Keith
