As normal, it was a great way to meet and network with new people in London or catch up with old friends. From 7pm on Thursday 30 September was an evening with over 150 EYP members.

The end of summer is here so we felt it was time for a few drinks and some good old fashioned networking. We decided to go for something different this time around so found ourselves a pub with a tree inside - as most pubs have trees on the outside we thought this was pretty unique!
More than a houndred people joined EYP at the Cottage Bar in Waxy's (in the West End) on September 8th, from 7 and 10 pm. We did a couple of speed networking sessions during the evening, and a business card draw for a free dinner for four at the restaurant there.
A great social event all round. Stay tuned for the next event!

A big thank you to all who came to our recent event at Chinawhite.
Over 200 EYP members attended the night to hear "Mr Network", Andy Lopata, deliver an excellent presentation on the value of networking. In his talk, Andy discussed the ways in which networks can make a big difference to a business, particularly during this economic downturn.
The event concluded to the stirring beats of DJ Ian (“Get shaky”) Carey on the decks and a good time was had by all.
Photos are now online from the event - check out our gallery to view them.

ELEW fuses classic jazz with modern pop and rock, and has created a thunderous new sound he calls Rockjazz, recalling John Coltrane's 1960s recreations of the contemporaneous popular music. And don't just take our word that he's awesome. ELEW has been asked to perform at a veritable whirlwind of high profile events, including the TED Conference, the 2009 Donna Karan Fall Runway Show, an exclusive pre-Oscar party attended by Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire, Oprah Winfrey and Hugh Jackman, and an ultra-exclusive benefit for the Contemporary Art Fund at the Circle Filologico Milanese in Milan. Last month, ELEW was invited to the White House, where he performed solo on the piano for an audience that included President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama.

In just hours from when EYP London's women in enterprise event at Apple's central London headquarters went live, all the tickets flew out the door!
Yes, it will be a great event - and the speed at which the tickets disappeared shows us how much our members want more events like these - so we'll be happy to organise more in the future.
But if you didn't get your hands on one of the tickets to this event, never fear, beloved members - we will be holding an evening of excellent professional networking at the very cool Zebrano bar, just off Carnaby street, at the same time - 17 June, from 7pm until late. This event is open to everyone within EYP so we hope to see you there!
We've also just announced yet another event for June - cocktail making at the gorgeous and glamorous Boujis in South Kensington on 24 June 2009. Tickets are just £35 which includes a lesson, two cocktails and then the opportunity to stay and play till the early hours.

0 Comments- Add comment Written on 17-Nov-2008 by EYPADMINSheridan “Shed” Simove, TV producer, comedian, author and novelty entrepreneur, is set to speak at EYP London’s latest event, to be held during Global Entrepreneurship Week (17-23 November 2008) next week.
Described as a modern-day entrepreneurial genius, Shed, who once changed his name to “God” by deed poll, has had a highly successful career in television production working on such shows as The Big Breakfast, Space Cadets and Big Brother. He’s since forged a highly profitable merchandising empire including products such as the Cock-A-Doodle Pad, the You’re Old range of birthday candles, the Control-A-Man and Control-A-Woman remote controls, to name a few. His second book, The Ideas Man, was launched earlier this year.
Shed will be talking to young professionals about turning their business ideas into a reality at the event, which will be held from 7 to 10pm on 18 November at the Association of Photographers venue in Old Street. It is hosted by EYP London, a professional networking organisation which hosts regular events in Central London, and Make Your Mark, the national campaign to give people in the UK the confidence, skills and ambition to be enterprising.
0 Comments- Add comment Written on 10-Nov-2008 by EYPADMINIn this week's National Networker, UK Bureau Chief, Andy Lopata, writes about EYP London's new website, We Want To See, which challenges individuals to tell the world about their big idea by uploading videos to propose solutions to the world's problems.
What do you want to see?
This is the question being asked by a networking group in London in response to the global financial crisis, war in the Middle East and increasing environmental concerns.
Unhappy at the noise emanating from the media and from politicians, the committee of European Young Professionals (EYP) felt that the time is ripe for individuals to have their say. They believe that networks, backed by modern social networking technology, are best placed to make that happen.

0 Comments- Add comment Written on 01-Nov-2008 by EYPADMINWith politicians and the media all trying to outshout each other in these times of terrorism fears, war, collapsing economies and environmental concerns, it's sometimes difficult for the humble individual to get their voice heard.
A new viral campaign is aiming to change that. We Want to See.com has just been launched by EYP London and we're inviting individuals from around the world to submit a short video, explaining what they'd most like to see.
Videos submitted so far include dreams of personal success ("I'd like to see my name as a style guru in every fashion magazine in the World"); hopes for the global economy ("I'd like to see the end of the credit crunch"); the altruistic ("I'd like to see it be mandatory for private sector organisations to give 10% of their profits to fund projects in disadvantages communities"); and the unrealistic ("I'd like to see Tottenham Hotspur climb off the bottom of the table"!).
Please add your voice to the crowd. What would you like to see?
You can join the site and submit your video here.
