I am Esperanza's mother. I am very kind and caring for others. I enjoyed it when we used to live on the ranch. I was furious when Tio Luis set fire to the farm. I tricked Tio Luis into thinking that I would marry him. Then we moved to California to work on a farm. The chores did not bother me because I was working to make money for us. I don't mind too much living like this. As long as we have a place to live, that is fine with me.
