Nickdean98With 4 missing again we are up against it from the start this morning against Oxshott Royals, however their season has been hit and miss and they could only draw against Bookham Colts who we had beaten 4 - 2 the previous week. However from the start we look weary and tired and Oxshott are first to the ball on every occasion, we get a lucky break as the ball hits the post, however, minutes later Charlie tries a quick clearance from the back of the box but mis-kicks straight to an Oxshott player and the ball is shot back past him in a flash. The pitch is in terrible condition this morning with the mud laying on the surface like two inches of thick vegetable soup, and we cannot get our act together, passes are overhit or go astray we just seem to struggle with the basics, added to this we suffer the same unbelievable luck that has dogged us all season. Oxshott make a good run down the right but the cross is fired in behind the striker, he sticks a leg out behind himself and the ball catches his heel and loops up into the air over Charlie and just under the bar. He will never score another like that in his life. So in at halftime and 2 - 0 down. The game is still within reach if we can just settle and start to play our passes. William volunteers for goal in the second half as he was unwell during the week and the cold, miserable conditions start to tell. We go out second half and although we hold Oxshott for a while they soon engineer a good opportunity and a good shot which William just could not stop. At 3 - 0 down our heads go down again and now its just a long wait til the final whistle, brightened only by Williams shouted instructions to his defence. Oxshott rack up two more goals and the match ends at 5 - 0. MOTM goes to Charlie for his first half performance in goal.
