Rusk County Texas

In the last year, I have been blessed to be invited to a new area in Rusk County, Texas to conduct my research. This area is on private property and is as wild and uncivilized as it gets. There is has not been any hunting in this area for decades and all the elements of Sasquatch existence are found here. Although I have not found any physical evidence of them being in the area, the audio suggests a possibility that this area could be one of the few strong holds left in this area. As I continue my studies, I will share what I find and add them to this page.

The First Night

The first night, I was doing a live in the field radio show from this location. The sun was nearly setting when I was setting up the recording equipment. Before I could get it set up, I was roared at. I am still in anguish that I did not capture this roar but it was a clear sign that I was in a great location. The geography of the place is a high bluff overlooking a vast river bottom land. Along the river, is dense forest. The first sound I want to share with you, I call a night in Rusk county where you can hear the different forms of wildlife sounds, a bit of Jurrasic Park Texas style. Enjoy

Heavy Breaths and the Drums

Interesting recording the first night I spent out there on the bluff. The microphone was down at the bottom of the bluff from where I slept. That night, I captured what sounded like heavy breaths and movement. Throughout the night, there was a strange drumming off and on through out the recordings. When recording closer to the river, these sounds were not recorded. I am uncertain of what they are exactly as I have tried to discover the source. Could it be the drums of ancient natives that once lived in this river bottom a century ago?

Primate Vocals

Recorded in November of 2009, I was conversing with an owl that had flown up. I did not hear the strange sounds too faint to the naked ear. I don't know what these sounds are, possibly a frog or something a bit more primate sounding than that. You be the judge.

Strange Growl Vocal

Recorded in November of 2009, the first sound you hear is the classic wood knock. At the end of the recording is a strange sound. I don't know if you would call it a vocal. At first I thought it might be a car but previous and after this clip there is no car sounds. Honestly, I feel it is probably a vehicle.

Unknown Vocals

Recorded in October of 2010, we were camped closer to the river that night. Unfortunately traffic over the bridge was quite a problem from this location even though it was a considerable distance away, the sound travels over the bottom land with impossible magnitude. We were stationed very near a coyote den, so close in fact we heard pups yelping at times. At the beginning of this recording, you can hear whoop like sounds. This could be a fox or coyote but it is a curious capture all the same.

Unbelievable Response

Recorded in December 2009, this strange response to an owl call caught my attention.  Knowing that the sasquatch mimic we listen for subtle differences. There is nothing subtle about this. The beginning is an owl but what follows is very interesting.  Is it an owl? I will let you be the judge.

Red Wolves

Recorded December 2009, I captured these vocalizations. Although they may be coyotes, I am hoping they may be the elusive red wolf which is making a strong comeback to our East Texas woodlands.

Panther v Boar Hog

Recorded October 2010, we were camped at the river. We heard the cat from just across the river, some time later we heard possibly a boar hog roar.  It was an uneasy evening.

The Hog

Recorded in November 2010, I had the recorder hanging from a tree about four foot off the ground. I am very lucky this hog did not eat my equipment.

Coyotes Upclose

Recorded in November 2010, these coyotes were very close and over modulated the microphone at times. I fully expected them to run right by me but they stayed in the wood line.

Call of the Wild

Recorded November 2010,  you will hear me standing on the bluff doing a general wild life call. This call usually prompts response from wolves, coyotes and owls. I did not expect to get this response. The response is nearer to the end of the recording so patiently wait for it. I do not know what this is.
