The Giant Walk

Giants are different than we humans besides the obvious appearance, they travel in two different modes of locomotion. When walking, the bi-pedal motion, they take long strides often five to six feet apart. patty1When observed by witnesses, it doesn't seem like their stride is exaggerated. The length of the stride is due to the length of their legs. While running in bi-pedal mode, the length of the stride becomes even greater up to eight to ten feet. Most giants can cross a roadway with only one footfall in the center of the road.

patty2Even though the giants are very physically fit and muscular, their knee joints and hips do not seem to straighten as ours do. I believe this is because their primary mode of locomotion in the south is quadrupedal. Much of the forest land in the south is very thick. Clear cuts and thickets are interspersed with various forest growth. Deer and other game use this cover to avoid predators. Not only does this lower profile of travel conceal them, it also allows them to cover more ground very quickly. Eye witness accounts describe them as being so fast, it almost seems unreal and animated. Their movements in the quadrupedal are fluid, natural and sleek lined to the ground. Apes move in quadrupedal also but the body profile has vertical angles where the giants have a more horizontal profile. Younger giants has a shorter leg length and their backs will appear more level. As the legs grow longer, the legs bend in a sprinter fashion and the profile of the back begins to dip.

There are mountains in the Big Woods region. Climbing the mountains in the quadrupedal would be much easier, faster and less conspicuous for the Giants. The arms of the Giant determines their height in quadrupedal. Accounts of ten foot tall and larger standing have been reported in the Big Woods region. If a Giant is ten foot tall, his arms will be at least six foot long. So if you had the opportunity to stand next to a ten foot tall Giant in quadrupedal stance, he would likely still be taller than you. You wonder how something this large and massive could travel noiselessly but they do. Any noise the Giants make is deliberate. They are so physically attuned to their body movements that their limbs and torso work with the same agility that we work our fingers. There is absolute and total muscular control. In four by four mode, they are quieter because only the finger tips or knuckles and the forward balls of their feet and toes are touching ground, leaving little evidence of their passing.

Sounds of Quadrupedal Motion

The backyard of the old Angelina county home place was very dark. From the woods to the back of the house, however, was lit by a sodium vapor light across the street. Behind the house was dark as pitch. This is the side that I placed the microphone, hoping the Giants would take advantage of the dark area. On this night, the microphone was once again in the bedroom window on the dark side of the house. I had the window closed with the microphone between the window and the screen pointing towards the woods. It was early spring and we had quite a few leaves and limbs on the ground at the time. March winds had been blowing but settled down for that night. Regardless of how quiet a giant can be, the ground cover is sometimes unavoidable especially if it must be crossed to reach a desired location.

In the audio to the right, I believe the Giant that is approaching is very very rapidly crossing the patch of light from the nearby woods in a definite quad mode. Once it reaches the darkness behind the house, it slows and is attempting to be as quiet as possible. When you listen to this recording, you will hear just how fast they move. You will also be able to hear four limbs as they move through the leaves.

The second audio was recorded from the same location but on the next night. In this recording, it sounds like he is alternating between bi-pedal and quadrupedal. Some might think that a human was lurking in my backyard by the sounds of the steps. Visibility was nearly zero behind the house. There were rolls of fencing, tools and other stuff laying about. A human walking back there would have had to be using night vision and the sheer chance of it being human, well it's pretty remote.

A Summer Sighting

lukesart1

art work by Luke Gross

The incident the painting is representing took place on July 18 1998. Luke Gross and another researcher were driving the dusty dirt roads looking for tracks. They had to turn around at one point because of a large brush pile in the way. They turned the truck around and headed the other direction. Just as they made their way down the road and drove around another large brush pile they came upon the two giants in the middle of the right of way. The Big one looked at them and then took off, but the smaller one lingered for about ten senconds and then made its way across the right of way.

The Story behind the Gable Footage

I am still trying to obtain the complete original of the video above. When it was first aired on You tube, this version was longer and contained the history of the video itself. It was pulled shortly after airing. I don't know why.I promise to do what I can to bring you more information on this striking video. Besides, the Patterson film, this footage is a favorite among many of my associates. There are many who think it is a dog or a gorilla but for those of us who have witnessed Giants in a quadrupedal fashion, this video comes very close. From studying the film, it appears that the camera person was being chased and at one point, the camera seems to be bitten at and tossed by the creature in the film.
