Aviary

2008 Webware 100 Awards winner,  Aviary is from the guys at Worth 1000 (do you visit their galleries?). Well, they're actually developing this powerful fully integrated creative suite of web-based applications for designers and hobbists. They will run under your browser and under AIR as downloadable apps as well.

The Aviary set features:

  • Phoenix, an image editor
  • Toucan, a color swatches and palettes creator
  • Peacock, a computer algorithm-based pattern generator
  • Raven, a vector editor
  • Hummingbird, a 3D modeller and skinner
  • Myna, an audio editor
  • Roc, a music generator
  • Starling, a video editor
  • Owl, a desktop publishing layout editor
  • Penguin, a word processing software geared towards creative writers
  • Pigeon, a painting simulator
  • Tern, a terrain generator (minitool)
  • Horus, a font editor
  • Woodpecker, a smart image resizer using seam carving (minitool)
  • Rookery, a free, unlimited distributed file system network that anyone can connect to and store data in. It also powers our file search engine.
  • Hawk, a digital content marketplace
  • Crane, a custom image product creator
  • Eagle, a smart online application that can identify complex data about an image based on the pixel patterns (i.e. which specific camera an image originally came from)
