IMPORTANT FULLBORE INFORMATION

MINIMUM NUMBERS

The Committee have decided that the club is willing to subsidise Fullbore shooting to a MAXIMUM of £50 per shoot.

Due to increased cost levied by Landmarc this means that shoots will have to attract the following minimum number of paying shooters signed up 2 weeks in advance

WARCOP = 16

BATTLE HILL = 10 (weekday)      18 (weekend)

If these numbers cannot be acheived the committee will have to consider shortening a session to 1/2 day or cancelling.

The fees for Fullbore shooting will remain unchanged at £25 if paid in advance or £30 if paid on the day.

This new format should help to reduce the financial burden on the club due to fullbore shooting, whilst preserving as much choice as possible for all shooters by using a range of facilities.

SHOOTER CERTIFICATION CARDS

SC cards are required by civilians who wish to shoot on MoD Ranges.

You will not be permitted to shoot unless you can show a current valid card.

Novices or shooters undergoing assessment are the only non-holders permitted to shoot if supervised by a current card holder

An information folder which includes details of how to obtain one is available at the club

The cards can only be issued by the club chairman but an assessor may also be appointed

CSAC's assessor is Bruce Lenton. Contact him or the chairman for info.

(S.C. Cards are not required at Diggle)

URGENT MESSAGE - 11TH MAY 12.45.

WARCOP IS CANCELLED FOR TOMORROW.

Landmarc have just called. There are no military units live firing happening tomorrow now and the Warcop by-laws dictate that in those instances there is no other shooting. Therefore us and another club have been told they need to foxtrot oscar.

Sorry folks, but no shooting tomorrow.

Adrian

I've had ex CSAC member Ken Mounsey speak to me. He is a member of Newcastle City RC and shoots F class with them at Ponteland, usually 4 5 and 6 hundred yards.

He has asked if any members of CSAC are interested in going along to shoot with them. Cost about £20 a day. They usually have 2 or 3 dates a month. Anyone interested speak to me and I'll give you his contact details so you can arrange it. Obviously SC cards `will be needed.

Cheers

Ref. sakoman308 question below about the latest NRA RCO Instruction Manual....... the main change to highlight is the modifications to the RASP format ..there are a couple of important additions. I won't go into detail but direct everyone to read the RASP I produced for our March booking. All club NRA RCOs should read/obtain a copy of the latest RCO Manual and there should be copies available in the club for reference. (I won't lend out mine...if you've read my previous posts you'll know why!)
For the uninitiated, RASPs are written up by the RCO for all occasions the club use Defence Estate Ranges and it must pass scrutiny by Range staff before we are permitted to shoot. A new one is produced for each visit; it must address the type of range eg. Gallery, Field Firing, Barrack, etc., the days events, safety, responsibilities, et al . I'd encourage all members to read through the club Range Files including the RASPs on a regular basis to refresh aqnd update their knowledge ... ignorance would not be an excuse if an incident occurred.........

Many thanks to Bruce Bell and Tony Gray for RCOing today. I hope we all enjoyed the first shoot of the year. A shame the warm snap ended a few hours too soon.

Just received my NRA RCO qualification renewal with the latest Instruction Manual (Edition 5). Suggest current RCO's read this updated version if they only have copies of earlier editions as there's been a number of significant changes. I've requested that the committee obtain copies to replace the old ones I provided in the club Range Files.

Following the election of a new NRA regional rep there is a developing improvement in communication from him out to affiliated club secs and individual NRA members.(Previously such communication was in effect non existent) One outcome of this (which has already started) is invitations from clubs to others in the region to attend their fullbore range days. I expect Colin will keep us posted on developments and I will pass on any info sent to me as an individual NRA member. I will post up any items sent to me on the notice board. As most of the clubs are in the N.E. they tend to book ranges east of the Pennines but they are still worth considering. A useful link to the range locations can be found here......http://darlingtonshooting.org.uk/Public/pages ... .html
Hopefully these arrangements will develop to the advantage of all who struggle to attend fullbore ranges or have to cover the cost of range hire,

This message recently appeared on the NRA web site. The information is equaly valid for any MoD range..........

Shooters Certification Cards

Please be aware that you will need to produce a valid 2010 Shooter's Certification Card in order to shoot at Bisley.

There can be no exceptions.

It is not permitted for a shooter without a card to be supervised by someone who has a card, unless the person without a card is a novice shooter or undergoing the certification assessment.

If you require further information to acquire cards for your club, please follow this link.

This information has been recently posted on the NRA site

Certification - NRA audit process
As per Annex E of the club info pack sent out last year (copies available online or on request) the NRA will be carrying out an audit of the certification process at a number of clubs nationally including Bisley. The random audits will be carried out by appointment by regional assessors. The decision to hold such an audit is to test and be able to demonstrate to the MoD that clubs are certificating appropriately and keeping the required records.

Shooters are reminded that they must carry their certification card with them at all times when shooting on an MoD range (including Bisley). When an RCO signs on in the range office at Bisley, he is signing that all the firers are certified and carrying their cards. This will be checked by NSC staff randomly throughout the year.

It is a disciplinary offence to shoot without being certified except under the exclusions as outlined in the MoD agreeent. Further information is available at http://mod.nra.org.uk

WARCOP - IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Due to ever increasing cost from Landmarc, we have had to change the fee structure for Warcop & Battle Hill.

It is prefered that you pre-register, either by emailing me or by signing up on the white board in the club.

IF YOU PRE-REGISTER AND PAY IN ADVANCE THE FEE IS STILL £25, IF YOU JUST TURN UP ON THE DAY, IT WILL COST £30.

Please sign up by 6th March, as we need 12 people to run Warcop and avoid making a loss.

Bruce Lenton
