Slush and Song

Well done again to those choir members who slogged through the slush to sing on Monday.

More progress on Bohemian Rhapsody (slowly) and Scarborough Fair (more quickly), a revision of All Things Bright (though it had dimmed a little!). As well as the usual supsects, there was Uncle Tom Cobbley and All! Great time, great fun , as usual.

We'll be missing the gardeners next week, so the rest will have to fill the space - and that's not a reference to Christmas over indulgence!

The Hardy Singers

No, not a new choir, but those who came to the first rehearsal of 2010, braving the freezing temperatures and icy pavements. Well done one and all! Steve and Judith could have saved a lot of money, stayed at home and skiied down The Maltings!

Medals will be handed out at the next rehearsal.

Christmas Social Sing

A hugely enjoyable evening on the Monday before Christmas.

The choir sang for invited guests, Helen made them laugh and Roger found an excuse to regail everyone with a poem about 'binding twine'. We all had a glass of wine and festive food.

What a great end to the year and we look forward to a new year of singing starting after New Year.

A HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ONE AND ALL!

Cropwell Butler Nightclub Taken by Storm

What a night!                   Fun! Fun! Fun!                   Funny! Funny! Funny!                   Educational!                  .... and the great singing and playing!

Well done one and all. You were magnificent. Not that I didn't think you wouldn't be. I always knew that one day we would end Jingle Bells in the right key. The audience seemed very appreciative and it was a good sign, I thought, when they offered us food and drink. At least I don't think it was sympathy.

And finally, a big thank you to Bernard Dewagtere, whose website can be found at www.formationmusicale.fr/ (Steve may want to look him up, though I hope his French is up to it).

Getting Nearer

Well done to all last night. As well as Christmas getting nearer and nearer, so is Jingle Bells! (Remember, there's help on the news page.)

Remember - BE BOLD and TOO LOUD IS BETER THAN TOO FLAT!!!

ps Thanks again, Dorothy. Forgot to say it publically on Monday.

Christmas comes early

Sorry that Christmas came early - but we have to get them underway. The choir did brilliantly though, with the invaluable help of Dorothy on the old ivories this week.

Get your thinking caps on about introducing songs. It could be something informatory, something funny, a personal memory - anything. Volunteers gratefully welcomed.

A Bit of Piano

Thanks to Jill for providing us with some backing on Monday. It does mean that there's less 'toing and froing' to the piano and back.

Well done, everyone, again! A great rehearsal and heartening  that those new members actually came again!! Gluttons for punishment, I suppose. The rest of us are hooked, so there's no hope for us.

See you next Monday.

Well done, everyone! Great to see so many on Monday.

Nobody was given the bird, despite the Nightingale, and the Methodist wigwam was shaking with the song for the Great Chief. Remember, we're singing for fun, Fun, FUN!
