Cropwell Bishop Village Celebration weekend - A Midsummer Evening at St Giles.

The choir performed two pieces to round off part one of this annual concert; a medley of Richard Rogers music that began with a rousing 'Oklahoma, and 'Rhythm of Life', which provided a very lively end to the first half of the evening.

Mayoral civic service at St John's, Colston Bassett, Sun.June 19th.

A packed church were there to celebrate with the new mayor of Rushcliffe, Gordon Moore. The choir squashed together to sing 'Turn Turn Turn' and lead the singing.

Rawlings Court

A great evening entertaining the folk at Rawlings Court. Over 30 of us performed old favourites from last season to a very appreciative audience. In place of a fee, the residents sent £50 to the Notts Air Ambulance. The evening finished with plenty of tea and chat.

Picnic in the Park

Great fun, great singing!

"Down to the River to Pray", "Mama MIa" (Abba) and the long awaited and greatly anticipated first performance of "Bohemian Rhapsody" (Queen). All that long rehearsing paid off. We must do it again soon.

Music for a Summer Evening

A warm summer evening, even a warm church, and the sober concert in the church was rocked by the sound of Cropwell Bishop Singers. Our contribution began with "Down to the River to Pray" (acapella) and was followed by the ever popular "Barbershop Blues. Tha latter received the only cheer of the evening.

The concert concluded with the C B Singers being augmented by the church choir to sing Howard Goodall's setting of the 23rd Psalm - the theme to "The Vicar of Dibley".

Cropwell Butler Methodist Chapel Anniversary Concert

A packed chapel were entertained with a wide variety of music; folk, popular religious, t.v., pop, film - Old Uncle Tom Cobbley and All. (Yes, we sang that too!) Helen, Roger and Bob made us laugh (though Bob may not be the altos' favourite after his poem about their section) and we even heard from the ghosts of Flanders and Swann.

The evening ended with excellent refreshments provided by the kind fold of Cropwell Butler.

Christmas Singing Social

A social evening was arranged at the Memorial Hall for choir and invited guests. The choir sang its mixed programme of songs, Helen Weir made us all laugh and Roger Wilkinson found an excuse to regale everyone with a poem about 'binding twine'.

Wine and festive food were consumed during the interval and it was a great end to the year as we looked forward not just to Christmas but also to a new year of singing.

Cropwell Butler WI Christmas Party 2009

The choir entertained the Cropwell Butler WI with a varied programme of music and humour, culminating in some seasonal numbers. The evening ended with choir and audience joining for some traditional carols.

A big thanks to all who took part and to the WI for their invitation and hospitality. We all enjoyed ourselves tremendously.
