Webjam focus for 2010

Webjam is buzzing in 2010. We experience that more and more businesses see the potential of social media to engage with their clients or with their employees. During our monthly breakfast briefings with clients and prospects the recurring themes are how to use social media for community building, for engagement with employees and how to bring together your online presence in your own branded environment.

Webjam homepage As you can see on our updated web site, www.webjam.com, we have adapted our offering accordingly. It now consists of three areas: The social publishing platform to host your environment, the managed services to stay in control of your social media deployment and the creative services to translate your requirements in an unique, engaging and visually attractive social media solution.

These three pillars of the Webjam social media framework are the basis for advising our clients on how to design and implement their social media strategy and deployment.

Social Media in the Workplace

As social media matures, it is increasingly becoming a key element in the marketing mix of many organisations. With Facebook regularly attracting approximately fifty per cent of the UK's online population, clearly, people feel comfortable communicating via social media.

As companies and organisations adopt best working practices to suit the needs of 21st century commerce, many have embraced social media for marketing purposes with more and more brands ditching micro-sites and running campaigns via Facebook, Twitter et al. Webjam can assist online campaigns by providing a social media hub so that your organisation can harness these various channels.

It is also apparent that organisations are adopting social media as part of their internal communications strategy. Webjam provides a 'social layer' through which employees can be encouraged to become 'brand ambassadors'. The commercial benefits are clear, an engaged workforce encourages greater productivity, and can result in increased share holder value. A simplistic analysis, but nonetheless a valid point that we explored in our recent breakfast meeting, information about which can be found on Webjam Connections.

Vintage Reading Groups

We are proud to announce the imminent launch of Vintage Reading Groups. CCV publishing, part of the Random House Group will launch the community during the second half of February. Vintage Reading Groups allow fans of Vintage books to communicate online.

Vintage Reading Groups The site enables members to discuss books, write reviews and chat to others. CCV hopes to use it to connect with customers and encourage people to buy books.

Members can also create their own personal book clubs online and special interest groups around their favourite books authors and genres. The site also has a dedicated page to Vintage media, including reading guides, podcasts and videos.

The company also hopes that organisations such as libraries and bookshops will join to create their own sub-networks and book clubs.

Claire Wilshaw, Vintage marketing manager at CCV, said, "The Vintage Reading Group is a community of reading groups where members can share ideas, recommend books and gain inspiration. It allows us to forge a group of like-minded readers to engage in debate, give feedback and, ultimately, drive book sales."
