So I’m using the shirts to encourage the first timers to come out and help and get a Men’s Ministry T-shirt. Each night we cover a few verses and each time I am struck with what a great example Nehemiah is for me in doing Men’s ministry. Nehemiah leads by example, addresses conflict as it arises, takes off his coat and labors with the rest of the people, doesn’t seek approval from man but from the Lord and doesn’t seek worldly profits for his efforts. In fact he just ask the Lord to remember him. In the short time I have been doing Men’s ministry I have been frustrated, tired and doubting why I am doing all this work with very little responds from the men in my church. Nehemiah reminds me that what every we do, we should do it for the Lord not for man or our gain. The same applies for us as work! Don’t spend your time doing your Job to get that next promotion, raise or praise from your Boss. Do your Job the best you can for the Lord and he will take care of the rest in his time. It is hard to not look for those things that prove to ourselves and to others that we work hard and are good at what we do. But we must look at Men in the Bible and use them as examples to remind ourselves that we do all things as unto the Lord other wise it is a waste of time and effort

Well it has been time from my last update and for that I am truly sorry.

FBC Kyle’s new Pastor Brother Jeff English gave his first official sermon on June 8th and each week we are praising God for directing us to his servant Bro. It is an exciting time and a time for fervent prayer. (So if your reading this I ask that you take a minute and Pray that God will show the church his will and that the church will be open and willing to follow were ever he leads us.) We will be putting together a Vision team that will come up with a Mission Statement, Vision Statement and Core Values that will be presented to our church for approval. Once this is done then everything the church does from that point will be looked at to see that it is in line with our Mission statement, Vision Statement and Core values. We have learned what it means to contend for the faith and why we as believers must stand up and be counted were it comes to false doctrine. Voddie has helped us understand that when we see or hear false truths we are to make every effort to correct those in a non-threatening manager. Because we are not trying to WIN a debate we are and should be helping our bothers and sister in Christ understand the truth. We should not and cannot try to show we know more or we are more holy. While I think we all understand this simple fact we are of the flesh and that can sometime cause us to be very aggressive in how we handle correcting the Truth.

In addition Voddie has shown us through Peter, John and Paul that when we come under attack for speaking the truth we must put our trust in the Lord. Because the Holy name of Jesus has that much power and no matter what happens we will always be with him. How sad it is that we don’t stand up more for our faith because we think someone might not like what we are saying. Its not like we are in any real danger (physical) now are we? What if we lived in China, Singapore, Malatya Turkey or Inda could we, would we really be willing to die for the Truth. Men and Women are doing it everyday yet we continue to keep our mouths shut and look the other way.

Why don't we stand up more for our Faith?

I truly believe the reason we don’t stand up for the faith more is because we say we are Christians and believe in the power of Jesus but don’t want to be held accountable for living like we are really changed by his love and grace. See that is the real kicker here contending for the faith means you must live your faith 100% no part timers.
