Back to Blog Written on 11-Oct-2009 by ChefinHeelsOh what a horrid time pussycat-wise we're having. Wilma, our black and tan tortoiseshell, has now been missing just over a week. It's like she has vanished into thin air. I have looked everywhere in the near vicinity - even breaking into the next door neighbours garden to try to see if she had somehow got locked into their house. This is most unlikely, as she is so timid that she wouldn't go near anyone else, I know....but you have to exhaust all possibilities. I even went to the Mairie, and with the help of some very helpful staff there got hold of the neighbours' contact details (they live full-time in Port Vendres, a good 90 min drive from here). They said they were very confident they hadn't locked her in - and that she never went near them. My heart aches thinking of what may have happened to her. I hope she comes home.
Freddy, our FIV sufferer, has been backwards and forwards to the vet recently. It turns out that where we thought he was faddy about his diet, is actually severe gingivitis, poor little chap. He has had two treatments of anti-inflams but I suspect it's back. Grrr. Damn. This might mean that he has his back teeth out - not an easy or without-risk procedure. Poor little fella can't eat, it's obviously too painful, so I mash up his food to a purée.
On the bright side, Mittens is extra cuddly and a constant companion. Hooray.
