Back to Brand Integrity Home Written on 03-Oct-2008 by russell.volckmannDesign. I love design, and like Peter Knapp, Executive Creative Director EMEA at Landor in the video presentation below... I am absolutely passionate about it. See why design is imperative, not just a 'nice to have' in building a successful brand.
Your thoughts?

It's a great synthesis!
In addition...
Brand experience should be aesthetic, entertained, with substance, stylish, functional and fashionable... All together!
And...
I think that ideas drive desire and design makes the desire comes to live... No? (mmmm... looks like a Canadian question

Yes, yes, and yes, Cristián!
Agreed. I could not have put it better in any language. Well said!
Indeed the visual expression of brand should be all that :)

Thanks for the link to this Russell. Great points all. It's worth reminding a lot of people who use the word "designer" to remember. As Peter clearly says and I agree, design isn't always styling and sometimes it's more important to think about aesthetics.
The yankee view. :-)

Thanks Mark. I agree... design is not always a beauty contest either as you know. Design in brand is the science making the right connections between the messages and the intended recipients. It may not always be pretty, but then again, beauty—to risk the cliché—is in the eye of the beholder, isn't it?
