If you know of anyone who plays electric violin (or Yamaha Silent strings) well, please let me know. I'm considering a composing/performing project for schools, using electric strings with music technology.

As a reasonable pianist but fairly poor jazz player, I'm taking myself off to the Jazzwise Summer School in July. After a period of my life spent as a session keyboard player - in the early 90s, usually playing standing up in bands with the keyboard far too low - I did have some wonderful jazz lessons with the late Lionel Grigson, though my jazz impro remains largely unaffected, more's the pity! I've heard great things about the jazzwise course and am practising like fury to make sure I get the most from it. Maybe I'll see you there!
