Skidaddle » A Day in the Life (well, a few days...)

I scoffed when people watched me toting around Little Boy as a newborn with little or no sleep, always nursing it seemed, covered in spit-up, changing 12 diapers a day and using a very specific rocking technique to get him to stop crying (sway, sway, twist, repeat) and these people said "just wait until he gets older! It gets sooooo much harder". And they would emphasize the "sooooo" with this look that told me I had no idea what I was in for. And now I'm in it. The Toddler Years. And while I tend to disagree with them still (nothing is harder than initial parenting when you have no idea what you're doing) there are some things that get WAY easier and a few things that get WAY harder. It's just that these few things that get WAY harder are so unpleasant sometimes (who taught him to shout at me when he wants something, whine when he doesn't get it and where on earth did he pick up the lying on the floor while kicking legs cry??).

So here are a few of those toddler things that occurred while I was testing my ability to take a 2 minute shower, unloading groceries from the car, putting away groceries, or (heaven forbid) trying to go to the bathroom alone. These also made me smile. So mischevious, this one!
