Vicki Anderson is a wonderful friend to many of us at BBC.  While serving as a short-term missionary, she befriended a young man in Kazakhstan who came to the United States for a series of very complicated surgeries.  Here is a report, a prayer request, and a newscast on that young man from Vicki: 

To those of you who have heard Andrey's story and have been prayingfor him, this link goes to a video of a story that a Detroit news station produced about Andrey. . .  Some of you might recognize Dave and Bethann Marchionna. They were team leaders at the Oakwood family retreat in 2006.

I am dumbfounded over how much the surgeon was able to do in 3 surgeries.

Andrey prayed to receive Christ while living with the Marchionnas and requested to be baptized shortly after. Along with a new face, he is also taking the Gospel back to the orphanage with him. Let us be in prayer for how his new face and heart affect the children and workers there in Kazakhstan. Facial deformities are extremely misunderstood in that country - people who have them are usually associated to demonic activity or curses and usually live isolated lives like the Lepers of old. In fact, the fact that Andrey even survived after being left on the step of the orphanage is a miracle in itself. Pray that this amazing transformation of both his soul and body will cause those around him to see and fear Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
