"Touched By An Angel" Stage Play

About Us

Alemaedae Theater Productions is a theater group that targets those in the community who want to display their talents and skills on and off stage through stage plays, touring pieces, movies, etc. If you are an actor/actress, singer, dancer, writer, director, etc. and are interested in auditioning, script writing, directing or choreographing scenes for upcoming shows our doors are always open. We were founded in March 2007 by Buffalo native, Philip Davis. Our first production the comedy stage play "The Call", sold out both nights at the Buffalo Museum of Science making history in Buffalo, NY. There were over 800 people in attendance. No unknown local independent theater group has ever had a debut that big in Buffalo and this is only the beginning. "The Call" was chosen to have a stage reading at the National Black Theater Festival in Winston-Salem, NC, and it was well received by producers, writers and directors nationwide. In July 2007 our dinner theatre piece "A Lost Cause" written by Taura Stephens was part of the Buffalo Infringement Festival and was well received by those in attendance. The piece dealt with manhood and women empowerment. We in association with Motherland Connextions debuted the historical piece "Voices From The Underground Railroad" in July 2007 and performed it as a dinner theatre for members of the National Black Congress. "Voices" is currently available for bookings. Also available for bookings is "4 Higher Education" a piece we created for incoming freshman in college. The piece was performed at Hilbert College in July 2007. In November 2007 we debuted "That's Just My Baby Daddy" written by Taura Stephens at the Buffalo & Erie County Public Library Downtown Bflo, NY; which was enjoyed by the likes of the late great Marvin Gaye's sister Jeanne Gaye and over 200 people in attendance. "Baby Daddy" hit the stage again Father's Day weekend at the Buffalo Museum of Science. We debuted in Nov 2007 "I Know I'm Young But I Have A Testimony." It was our first ever youth talent show / stage play that mesmerized and blessed all those in attendance, youth and adults. "Testimony" is also available for bookings. We co-produced the first "Stomp the Yard: Dance & Step Competition" in Feb 2008 with partner company King of Spades Entertainment.  We over sold the show with 600 ppl in attendance and over 100 ppl that we had to turn away. It was a safe and fun night for our youth in Bflo, NY as Channel 2 and LNN had cameras rolling getting the action; Part 2 was an even bigger success! We had 800 strong in McKinley High School! We headed back to McKinley in May 2009 for Part 3 then back to Forbes April 2010 for Part 4. In July 2008 we in cooperation with Motherland Connextions created and debuted "Dug's Dive"; a historical and entertaining piece about William Douglas. Douglas was a black man that owned a bar in the 1800s that was located on the strip of the Erie Canal. This show ran through August 2008 at the Erie Canal strip in Buffalo, NY.  Our comedy stage play "Steward: The Relationship Specialist hit the stage November 2008 and was a huge success with close to 400 ppl in attendance in its debut at the Buffalo Science Museum. Also in November 2008 our founder Phil Davis graced the front page of The Challenger (One of Buffalo's prominent newspapers) and had a full page spread. In Feb. 2009 we debuted the Scenes & Cuisines Dinner Theater Series at FellowshipWorld.  On Easter Sunday April 12, 2009 the life changing play "Grateful" written by Phil Davis was part of True Bethel Baptist Church's wonderful service at Kleinhans Music Hall in front of 4,000 people. Jun 28th, 2009 we held our first ever Alemaedae Theater Awards at the Buffalo Public Library Auditorium. It was a great event that set the tone for future productions to come. Wed Aug 19th 2009 was the debut of our dinner theater production of "Touched By An Angel" at the Five Fifty Banquet Hall. The show was sold out with over 170 people in attendance and was the first of our monthly series of different shows that were held every 3rd Wednesday of each month from 2009 thru 2010 that averaged 100 or more people each night. In Jan 2011 we debuted the first ever hip-hop dance & step stage play entitled "Let's Get It In" at BAVPA Main Stage Auditorium to a crowd of over 400 ppl. The show received 3 out of 4 stars in the Buffalo News. In March 2011 we co-produced Charles Fuller's "Zooman & The Sign" at Ujima TheaterLoft. This show also received 3 out of 4 stars and won two of our actors Artie Awards for Best Debut. We continued our monthly LMAO dinner & comedy series at The Oakk Room restaurant from March 2011 till 2012. Our stage play "FBE" debuted August 12th -14th at Buffalo East to rave reviews receiving 3 out of 4 stars in the Gusto. The last two shows were sold out. In July of 2011 we began teaching drama to children in grades 3rd-8th with the Star Kids program, and their partner sites at CEM. We continued working with their youth teaching drama at school #6 after school program, and presently working again with CEM. We in collaboration with Buffalo East started the Acting Workshop, that is held every Saturday at Buffalo East, where veteran Artie Award Winning theatre teachers Willie Judson & Verneice Turner train and teach students that range from the age of 7 to 60 all the necessary skills they need to become great or better actors as well as build self confidence and development. We celebrated our 5th Anniversary March 9th thru 11th, 2012, successfully remounting our original production of "The Call" to a great crowd who filled the Mason O Damon Auditorium. In the fall of 2012 we debuted SNLMAO a late night sketch comedy show at the Road Less Traveled Theatre inside the Market Arcade Film & Arts Centre which was well received and will return in Fall 2013. In Jan 2013 we debuted the play "Wonderful World of Peter Williams" at the Road Less Traveled Theatre, which received 3 out of 4 stars in the Buffalo News and inspired the film which is currently in production. Our group is full of talented adults and young adults. God is good and has blessed us tremendously so we will continue to give back to our community through theater and other entertainment endeavors for years to come. We're here to stay! We're always looking for new members so please contact us and come out to all of our auditions.
