Comment: What is going on here, Isn’t the Pound 4 Pound MMA king supposed to annihilate and destroy everyone and anyone that dares to challenge him? That is what we all expect from UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva, right? Instead of delivering an action packed fight for the main event of UFC 97, we were all treated to a “Dancing with the Starts” like performance by Silva and his challenger Travis Leites.

| Quinton Jackson Wins by Unanimous Decision at 5:00 in the 3rd round . | ||||||||||||||||||||||
Comment:
I was very impressed by both Rampage and Jardine’s performance and will to win. They both showed why they are in the upper echelon of the light heavyweight division. Although Rampage won the fight and this fight was to determine the next opponent for Light Heavyweight Champion Rassad Evans, he will be unable to compete due to a jaw injury he suffered during the match. It seems as if Lyoto Machida will be next in line for a shot at Evan’s title. Click For Fight Video Part 1 Click For Fight Video Part 2

| Shane Carwin Wins by Knock Out at 1:09 in the 1st round . | ||||||||||||||||||||||
Comment:
How many times are we going to see this happen? A fighter is controlling the fight and is well on his way to victory, only to carelessly walk into a haymaker, and goodnight! Shame on you Gonzaga, you should know better than that. Good win for Shane Carwin, anyone with that kind of KO power is a serious threat in the heavyweight division. Click Her For Fight Video

Comment:
I am the first to say “give the fighter a chance when he has been knocked down”, but what I saw in this match simply made my stomach turn and my blood boil. What referee Ives Lavine did was simply inexcusable and unprofessional. The referee’s job is to enforce the rules and to protect the fighters, Lavine did neither. I hope the UFC will take a long look at Lavine’s performance and either retrain or suspend him. Nuff said.

I didn’t know Matt Hamill could kick that high and apparently neither did Mark Munoz. Good win by Hamill, he’s apparently adding some new weapons to his arsenal.
