DAY OF PENTECOST


8am Holy Communion

A quiet meditative service of Holy Communion with short sermon (no music). Duration: 40 minutes.

 

9.30am Parish Communion for the Whole Church

This is our once a month Eucharist when all ages are in the service together throughout.The first part of the service is stream-lined and flexible to allow the full inclusion of children. There are activities for children - and adults- on arrival; there is an all-age talk/presentation on a theme for the day. Music by by both All Saints Music Group and All Saints Choir.All are welcome to receive Communion or a blessing at the altar. Children and young people are welcome and we are a church at which children are admitted to Communion. 55 minutes. Theme: Breath on me breath of God.

At this service this Sunday we will introduce and pray for those who are exploring the role of lay pastoral assistant in the parish and pray for all those who are involved in pastoral care ministries for the church and for us all as caring members of God's church.

                  

11.15am Choral Matins

At this service we worship God in poetic language and the sacred music of the choral tradition of the Church of England, following the original Book of Common Prayer pattern (1662) for Morning Prayer. The service is  sung by All Saints Church Choir, though with hymns for the congregation to join in, and a short talk. 55 minutes.

6.30pm Healing Service

A quiet meditative service (with hymns) at which prayer is offered with laying on of hands in the name of Christ for any who would like this ministry; or on behalf of others who are in need. The sacrament of anointing with oil is available, however,please notify one of the clergy and discuss your need for this during the week before the service. 




 

Our monthly pattern of Sunday services

8am every Sunday

Holy Communion: 45 mins; no hymns; short address;traditional language; CW Order 1

 

9.30am every Sunday except last Sunday of month

Parish Communion: Principal service; Eucharist 65 minutes; hymns; 10-15 minute sermon or presentation; All Saints Choir; contemporary language; Junior and Youth Church running concurrently in The Cornerstone. Refreshments after the service.

 

9.30am Last Sunday of each month (except July, August, December)

Parish Communion for Whole Church: All-age Eucharist with  appropriate presentation and children's activities; All saints Music Group and All saints Choir; 55 minutes total length

 

11.00 First Sunday of each month

Child-friendly family service with refreshments afterwards (30 minutes)

 

11.15am Second Sunday of each month

Holy Communion according to the Book of Common Prayer traditional language and format. No music. Short homily. 30 minutes total.

 

11.00am Third Sunday of each month

Child-friendly family service with refreshments afterwards (30 minutes)

 

11.15am Fourth or Last Sunday of each month (in a four Sunday month)

Choral Matins: Traditional Book of Common Prayer Morning Prayer sung by choir; hymns; psalms;5-8 minute sermon; 50 mins (Please note - this service does not occur every month, please check list of services this month)

 

11.15am  Last Sunday of month in a five Sunday month

Choral Eucharist: Traditional Book of Common Prayer Eucharist sung by Choir; hymns; High Altar may be used; 10 minute sermon; 65 minutes.

Choral Evensong: Traditional Book of Common Prayer Evensong sung in full by choir; psalms, anthem; hymns, 5 minute sermon; 50 minutes

Sung Evensong: Traditional Book of Common Prayer Evensong with choir; psalms; anthem; 5 minute sermon; 45 minutes

 

6.30pm Third Sunday of month

Evensong: Said service of traditional Evening Prayer with hymns. No choir. Short reflection. 35 minutes.

 

6.30pm Fourth Sunday of month in a five Sunday month

Various - may be as for Third Sunday

 

6.30pm Last Sunday of every month

Various - may be Choral Eucharist or contemporary Evening Prayer but on alternate months it is always a Healing Service which offers laying on of hands with prayer for healing and anointing of the sick.
