BELIEVE THIS:

As a minister it is desperately important

that you know not only what your congregation is hearing as

you speak, but what they are seeing when they look toward the

pulpit and the front of your church.

 For the Blog:

YOU MUST TAKE THE LEAD:

To create an uplifting attitude

and a strong sense of the presence of God within your church

worship experience, you must take the lead. Ask yourself:

“What does my audience see when they look toward the pulpit

area? What do I look like to them?” In the first few minutes of

their viewing time, people are getting significant and sometimes

lasting impressions of you and your church.

Pray:

Pray for your message and for its impact upon your congregation as

you begin searching God’s will for that Sunday-pray during

the week as you work with the Lord on the sermon He’s led

you to create-pray early on the Lord’s Day morning, looking

into the face of God, thanking Him for the message and for His

promised help in speaking whatever the Holy Spirit will guide

you to say.

Make certain that you and the Holy Spirit are prepared

and working together to share something exciting and

uplifting with your folks. Check it out any way you can, with

your wife or with some trusted and loving friend: Are you making

a good impression on your people? Do any of your mannerisms

or the style of your preaching make them nervous or

uncomfortable?

Snippets of T.D.Jakes

In his book "ABC's of Ministry" David talks about the importance of ministry style and communication. On page 68 he says " Black preachers, especially those of past years, have executed a truly beautiful and impressive art from of sermon delivery. Even today to watch and listen to men like T.D. Jakes is to get a lesson in the phraseology and imagery of a delivery and manner of preaching which holds the listener spellbound.
