THE MAIN THING IS TO HAVE FUN.
At the end of the evening the runners should be tired but they will have enjoyed it - mostly!
Training Sessions
The basic staple of the club is the Tuesday night training. The members are divided into two groups each with at least two coaches. One group will do training exercises and running games at the school and the other group will do a training session around the town. A basic session will consist of:
Control Session
Once a month we measure progress by using a session that involves being timed over a certain distance or seeing how far you get in a set time. The good news is that improvement in time or distance often leads to CHOCOLATES for a prize; the bad news is that the next time they have to go faster or further to get the chocolates.
Summer Training
In the Summer we use the school track and focus more on athletics' distances (100m to 1500m) and do some field event work.
