<feed xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2005/Atom"><title>My Blog</title><link href="http://www.webjam.com/2centz/2cents_reviews_movies/$my_blog/" /><subtitle></subtitle><updated></updated><author><name>Webjam</name><email>atom@webjam.com</email></author><id></id><language>en</language><entry><id>93dd5aec-efee-4b27-88f2-c20617a38137</id><title>I'm Not Scared and Old Boy</title><link href="http://www.webjam.com/2centz/2cents_reviews_movies/$my_blog/2008/09/27/im_not_scared_and_old_boy" /><updated>27-Sep-2008</updated><content type="html"><![CDATA[<p><strong><a href="http://www.netflix.com/Movie/I_m_Not_Scared/60032562?trkid=188469" target="_blank" title="I'm Not Scared">I'm Not Scared</a> </strong>directed by <font color="#00458b">Gabriele Salvatores is a quiet movie about a brave boy in Southern Italy and the discovery he makes.&nbsp; While playing with his friends, 10 year old&nbsp;Michele comes across an abandon house with a cavernous type hole beside.&nbsp; There is a young boy inside, chained by his ankle.&nbsp; Of course this scares Michele, but not enough, for he&nbsp;goes back every day to visit the boy in the hole and develop a friendship with him.&nbsp;Michele soon discovers who the boy is and why he is there and makes the desicion to do a fearless thing.&nbsp;I thought this was a great movie and it reminds you of the fears of the unknown that&nbsp;you have during your childhood and the overwhelming boost of courage that helps you overcome them.&nbsp; I was totally involved with the charcters hoping for the best outcome through every changing scene.&nbsp; Beautiful scenery of Italy provides the backdrop for this movie.&nbsp; I give it a 9 out of 10 and a definite must see. Foregn drama/thriller and has subtitles.</font></p><div><font color="#00458b"><a href="http://www.netflix.com/Movie/Oldboy/70024111?trkid=226870" target="_blank" title="old boy"><strong>Old Boy</strong></a>&nbsp;directed by <font color="#00458b">Chan-wook Park is somewhat of a Korean 'Count of M</font></font><font color="#00458b">onte Cristo' except way more darker and cruel. Oh Dae-su is imprisoned in a very shabby hotel room&nbsp;and given&nbsp;no reason as to why.&nbsp; He is watches t.v., is fed, drugged and hypnotized every day.&nbsp;One day while watching the news, he discovers that his wife has been murdered and he is now a supect.&nbsp; His only daughter has been adopted by a couple in Sweden.&nbsp; All of a sudden he is released after 15 years and now he seeks his revenge on not only his wife's murderer but his demented captor as well.&nbsp; He meets a waitress who he recognizes from a t.v. show and she befriends him.&nbsp; Together they search for clues that will ultimately lead to one of the most shocking endings in movies.&nbsp; Oh Dae-su's need for revenge takes him deep into the belly of madness and you then wonder &quot;what next&quot;.&nbsp; This movie contains violence, sex scenes and is disturbing at times.&nbsp;Dubbed in English also offers subtitles.&nbsp;I give it 9.5 out of 10 because I love seeing the enveloped pushed as far as its allowed.</font></div>]]></content><status>Published</status></entry></feed>
